OUR HOME TOWN
Welcome to our beautiful, charming city in the southwestern corner of Indiana. The City of Boonville was founded in 1818 and is the county seat of Warrick County. The city was likely named after Ratliff Boon who was most influential in its establishment. Ratliff Boon was a cousin of Kentucky's famed Daniel Boone. President Abraham Lincoln studied law in Boonville. Boonville was once comprised of mainly coal miners. The local coal miners are very few now as compared to years past. Many of our citizens work at the nearby Alcoa Plant. There continues to be much farming in the area surrounding the City of Boonville. It is a wonderful city for raising a family.
